“Hello, my name is Teisha-Lani and todays video will be about ‘Best practice examples of content marketing ideas for a travel website.”

(. Clip 2 :  )

“So, Firstly. What is content marketing?

Content marketing is the process of creating valuable, relevant content to attract, acquire and engage your audience.”

( Clip 3: )

“The first step to creating a content marketing strategy, is to firstly define your goal. So as a travel website your goal is to create content that relates to travel.

Secondly, who is your target audience? Your target audience would be holiday makers, online agencies, influencers, etc.”

( Clip 4: )

“Now lets talk about some best practice examples of content for your travel website, and also why are they best examples?”

( Clip 5: )

“The first example is from a company called ‘trending travel’. They are a company that uses the influence of celebrities or social media influencers to promote holiday destinations.”

( Clip 6: )

“Their use of small blogs, explaining the experiences of holidays they have to offer through influencers, is very informative considering it is in a small context.”

( Clip 7: )

“To continue elaborating on the types of holidays on offer, they have also created visuals, like high-quality images on their main page which helps to increase higher views to an additional audience. This happens again with the use of videos, like their YouTube video of a couples holiday to Mexico to show a more detailed explanation.”

( Clip 8: )

“Trending travel is successful for their content marketing skills, by their use of short text, high-quality, engaging images and videos that result in higher interest and also their use of influencers, which helps result in additional audiences due to further promotion of content on their personal social media platforms.”

( Clip 9: )

“On the subject of elaborating more on a topic within maybe a small blog, eBooks are really helpful when a visitor reading a short blog would like to continue to learn more information.

( Clip 10: )

“Nicolette Beard from Top Rank marketing explains, ‘As a content marketing tactic, eBooks fit the bill for those business that need to communicate complex information but in a striking, easily digestible way.’”

( Clip 11: )

“To my second example, a company called culture trip that are “The essential travel companion to discover and book spot- on stays and experiences, hand - picked by a global community of travel experts and local insiders”

( Clip 12: )

“Culture trip creates content on their blog and distributes their original and curated content through social media, like Facebook, Instagram and many more.

All of their posts are short and sweet, which means the more concise your content is, the easier it is to engage your audience’s attention and interest”

( Clip 13: )

“Comparing between Trending Travel and Culture Trip their posting method, like timing are both unorganised and unstructured for their audiences time of attention. They have both posted their content at random times, which doesn’t help grab their audiences undivided attention. By doing this you are also making your audience miss out on an opportunity to view content that could be valuable and relevant to them.”

( Clip 14: )

“To my last example, a couple Mark and Miranda are award-wining travel bloggers, who run a blog called The Common Wanderer. Which is “A travel blog dedicated to. The roamers and seekers. It’s for the traveller and adventurers who go in search of authentic, real life experiences in exciting destinations around the world. People who want to see the world in a little bit differently, and in a responsible and ethical way too.”

( Clip 15: )

“I love this example for so many reasons!

Their content is all original, it is not traditionally promoted, like for example, it’s all distributed on recently up and coming popular platforms, like social media, for example, Facebook , Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.”

( Clip 16: )

“In my opinion, I think Mark and Miranda’s method of content marketing is initially almost a way of personal branding, except they are just branding their own experiences on their travels.”

( Clip 17: )

“Because all of their content is personal and original, people are more willing to trust their content. They are just two people travelling the world, authentically experiencing life together.”

( Clip 18: )

“Another reason, their use of simple but high-definition and detailed videos on their YouTube channel, of every place that they have visited and documented, especially within a short time frame is excitingly engaging.”

(Clip 19: )

“The Common Wanderer’s, Mark and Miranda have definitely taken their audiences attention into consideration, unlike the previous two examples.

As their posting methods are timed and catered for their audience, they post knowing when it is best to grab their audience’s attention, for example times of rest and not randomly throughout the day like at a time of work”

( Clip 20: )

“So why do I think Culture Trip and The Common Wanderer are great examples of content marketing?

Well both examples are best practice because, like mentioned before, they both create authentic and original content. It is personal and trusting.

They both post regularly, this helps to attract new visitors, as does promoting on multiple social media platforms, like Facebook and Instagram.

And Lastly, using a variety of content methods like, podcasts, live videos, YouTube channels and high-quality images and videos, it widens their opportunity to provide content that is catered for all different audiences, resulting in more site traffic and views.”

“Thank you so much for watch, I hope you can take some information away from this today and I will see you in my next video.”
